- Your position stays constant when jumping- the horse just moves toward you (take off) and away from you (landing).
- There is a role in your knee when jumping, not pinching, but it does provide a pivot point.
- You horse can see your hands, raising your hands could be an "alarm" to your horse and worry him before a jump.
I've ridden with Greg Best and he is wonderful. What is great about him is he understands that each horse is different and each rider is different. As a rider, you need key strengths for jumping, however, the rider's build may dictate how the rider "looks" while mounted.
