Helping your community, Cheerio needs some help.

Shopping for a horse trailer on craigslist today and I found this ad: http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/grd/4142392491.html.

A local girl borrowed a horse trailer and the divider bar went through her horse's side. She doesn't have enough money to pay the bill of $4,200. I do not have a lot of money either, but I figured I could spare $20. I called Colorado State University and gave the name of the horse, Cheerio, and the owner's name, Sherry, to make the donation. It was very easy and they are mailing me a receipt.

Sometimes we spend so much time worrying about our own bills, how to afford going to the next show, or saddle upgrade that we forget about our neighbors, fellow horse friends, and the barn just down the street that may need our help. There are so many people and horses that walk the a fine line between being able to afford a horse and giving it up. We all know how expensive horses are in Boulder County, average horse board prices are in the high $600s! People deserve to keep their horses, to many people those horses are their family.

I hope that you have a few extra bucks (maybe you could spare some latte money) to donate to Cheerio and Sherry. Random acts of kindness are what keep our community together.

Call CSU and donate 970-297-5000. All you need is a credit card and the name Cheerio and Sherry.
